Background:
Griffe Field School, a Derby City local education authority community school is situated on the southern side of Derby serving the Heatherton/Hollybrook community. The school was opened in September 1999 and provides an excellent, brand new environment for teaching and learning. In September 2004 the school's accommodation expanded and now includes a nursery and 14 main school classrooms as well as a large hall, practical and group rooms, a library and computer room. It also has its own playing field and two attractive play areas in addition to the nursery garden. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. Educational visits are also arranged to enhance the curriculum. The school aims to offer a welcoming and learning environment.
