Background:

The school'stands at the junction of Eccles Close and Edale Road and access is from both routes. It has a light and spacious building containing three classrooms and a corridor. There is a community room, adjacent to the playground, which can be used by any local group and provides an additional facility for music tuition. Meals are cooked on the premises and served from a hatch linked to the large junior classroom. The site has a hard playing area, large grass field and several shrubberies. Computers are used in many curriculum areas. Each class has at least one computer, together with a range of software. There is also a suite of computers where the children can work in groups or as a class. The school provides a range of extra-curricular activities and clubs which include football, netball, rounders, cookery and basketball. Children can also take part in dance, gymnastics, games, athletics, swimming and adventurous outdoor activities. Netball and football matches are played against local schools. Classes make visits to places of educational interest during the year and these visits are usually linked to topic work. The school aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment.
