Background:
The first phase of Chellaston Foundation School and Technology College's 27-acre site was completed in 1977, and the second in 1978. Accommodation includes a library, an assembly and dining hall, a convenience kitchen, a gymnasium, 23 classrooms (including two food technology rooms), a dress and textiles room and seven laboratories. Two temporary classrooms were provided in 1981 and two laboratories and two classrooms in 1992. More recent additions include five new complexes for maths, sixth form, humanities, science and sport. Pupils have been on sporting tours to Germany, France, Holland, Austria, Spain and Malta. There are regular exchanges with schools in France and Germany.
