Background:
Founded in 1886, Long Lane Primary is a small village school with two classes. The school'serves the villages of Long Lane, Lees and Dalbury, Thurvaston, Osleston and Trusley. There is a playing field adjacent to the school and a strong relationship with the parish church. All National Curriculum subjects are taught, and pupils are offered gymnastics and athletics as extra-curricular activities. In addition, community sports groups regularly provide additional training after school. There is an active parents and friends' association and pupils, staff and parents regularly contribute to charity fundraising. Musical instrument tuition is available through a private company, and all children have access to swimming lessons and external gym facilities.
